Star Wars has been responsible for some of the weirdest and most fascinating arguments fans have been debating over for decades now. Arguably the most famous squabble of them all is whether Han Solo shot first in A New Hope's iconic Mos Eisley Cantina scene or not. In the original 1977 flick, it's pretty clear that Solo indeed shot Greedo first but for some reason, George Lucas altered the scene in the Special Edition released in the '90s, making it seem like Greedo had the upper hand.

Now, one of the franchise's lead stars Mark Hamill is weighing in on the age-old debate and if you'd ask Luke Skywalker himself, he's pretty convinced that his good old pal Han shot his blaster first. It all began when CNN anchor Jake Tapper shared his take regarding the debate, telling everyone that Greedo wasn't even able to fire his blaster considering how quick Solo fired his.

Hamill would later retweet the post and gave Tapper his seal of approval.

In a subsequent post, Hamill solidified his take regarding the argument and he pretty much agrees with Tapper's conclusion. He wrote, "Couldn't agree more, Jake. Thanks for always telling it like it is!"

It's still unclear to this day why George decided to alter the much-talked-about scene in favor of Greedo and quite frankly, we may never truly know the reason behind it but one thing is for certain, as long as he doesn't chime in to give the argument some clarity, this debate isn't going to end anytime soon.

Meanwhile, The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is now streaming on Disney+.
