Star Wars: Mark Hamill Shares Hilarious Reaction To Learning Luke And Leia Are Siblings

One can always trust Mark Hamill to share some awesome stories about what happens behind the scenes when they film any Star Wars movie. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor's latest tale is no different, and it even features the late Carrie Fisher.

Hamill, who has a habit of answering fan queries on Twitter, responded to a question about how he and Fisher felt when they learned that Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa are brother and sister. Take a look at his tweet below.

Interestingly, the first thing that Hamill reportedly thought was that Luke might also be royalty. Fisher immediately told him that that wasn't the case, something that Hamill couldn't let go of quite easily. "You sure? LORD Vader-QUEEN Amidala & I'm the only commoner?" he reportedly asked Fisher, whose reaction was represented by an angry face emoji. Hamill even added the hashtag #TrueStory so we'll have to believe him this time.

The revelation about Luke and Leia's connection may no longer be a big deal these days but it was a complete shock for fans who saw Return of The Jedi for the first time. Interestingly, George Lucas originally planned for Luke's sister to be a completely different character but the plan was changed as they began working on the third film in the original trilogy.

Both Hamill and Fisher are set to return in The Rise of Skywalker. Although we're still unsure how Luke will be brought back following his death in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Fisher's scenes are actually unused footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
