Star Wars: Mark Hamill Shares Heartwarming A New Hope Story Involving Carrie Fisher And Peter Cushing

Star Wars might be a huge franchise now but there was a time when the first film starred a relative unknown named Mark Hamill who struggled to make ends meet. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor has just shared an awesome throwback to the time when he was still working on A New Hope and offered a glimpse at what it was like working with the late Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing.

Hamill shared a short video of himself hanging out on the set of A New Hope with Fisher. Although Fisher is in full costume, Hamill himself is in his street clothes. Take a look at his post below.

"I was single, living in a 1-room flat in London during the original movie. I'm in street-clothes since I wasn't working, but would come to the studio anyway, to watch them film, hang-out w/ friends & on this day in particular-have lunch w/ 1 of my idols: Peter Cushing!" Hamill wrote, adding the hashtag #TrueStory.

It's awesome to see how well Hamill and Fisher got along behind the scenes. On a personal note, I would probably go to work even if I didn't have to work just for the chance to hang out with Cushing, too.

Hamill has certainly gone a long way since those times that he was starting out as Luke Skywalker. Sadly, Luke's story is about to end as The Rise of Skywalker is set to be the final film in the Skywalker Saga. Nevertheless, it's been an amazing journey for Hamill and his fans.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
