Star Wars: Mark Hamill Shares Adorable Empire Strikes Back Throwback Photo Featuring R2-D2

There is little doubt that Mark Hamill possesses an abundance of awesome photos taken while working on the Star Wars original film trilogy. Today, on his son Nathan Hamill's birthday, the film legend has shared a new one and this time, it's an adorable picture featuring R2-D2!

Mark Hamill shared the image on his official Twitter account. It features his son Nathan Hamill, who appears to still be a baby when the picture was taken. Nathan is shown comfortably seated within R2-D2. Check it out below.

Although the post doesn't confirm which Star Wars film was being filmed when the picture was taken, it's easy to assume that this one was during the production of The Empire Strikes Back. Nathan Hamill would have been about a few months to a year old at the time.

We're loving the adorable behind-the-scenes look at The Empire Strikes Back and it's great to know that Mark Hamill was able to bring his family to the set so they could keep him company. With that in mind, we're hoping Hamill will continue to share great photos from the production of the original trilogy.

One of the amazing things that Mark Hamill shared with his Twitter followers has been his most prized possession from the set of Star Wars. Although fans were expecting it to be Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, Hamill has since revealed that he is partial to the boots he wore in A New Hope. Amazingly, Hamill is still in possession of those boots and refuses to sell them any time soon.

But will Hamill return as Luke Skywalker soon? There are speculations that the Jedi Master will once again return in The Mandalorian Season 3 although Grogu has already chosen to abandon his training to stay with Din Djarin. Still, we won't be surprised if Skywalker makes an appearance in the Disney+ series next year.
