Star Wars: Mark Hamill Pays Tribute to George Lucas Ahead of The Rise of Skywalker Premiere

We're only a day away from the premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Mark Hamill just wants to remind us all where it all started. Hamill has just paid tribute to George Lucas and it's a heartwarming reminder that the Star Wars creator has changed everybody's lives.

Hamill posted awesome photos of Lucas on Twitter along with a touching caption. Check it out below.

"As #TheRiseOfSykwalker arrives in theaters, let's not forget that it all started in the imagination of just 1 man: GEORGE LUCAS. He alone created that galaxy far, far away that has inspired generations. Then, he let me be a part of it & changed my life forever..." he wrote before adding the hashtag #ALifetimeOfLuke.

It's a fitting tribute to Lucas, who came up with the idea of Star Wars back in the 1970s. He also decided to cast the then-unknown Hamill as Luke Skywalker, a decision that would change Hamill's life forever. Needless to say, we should all be grateful to Lucas for giving us a story that would be with us forever.

The synopsis for The Rise of Skywalker reads as follows:

"A year after the events of The Last Jedi, the remnants of the Resistance face the First Order once again—while reckoning with the past and their own inner turmoil. Meanwhile, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches its climax, bringing the Skywalker saga to a definitive end."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
