Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is oftentimes lauded as the best entry in the Skywalker saga and while it's held in such high regard by true blue fans of the franchise, it can't be denied that a particular sequence from the film has continuously stirred controversy that is still being talked about to this day. Obviously, it's none other than Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa's shocking kiss.

To be fair, Luke and Leia had no idea they were siblings during the time and it wasn't until Return of the Jedi that they learned about their family ties. Still, it didn't stop fans from questioning Lucas' decision to include the "incestuous" scene, and unsurprisingly, it continues to haunt actor Mark Hamill.

On Twitter, the Star Wars legend encountered a snarky fan who decided to poke some fan at Luke and Leia's iconic smooch. User Mariana Z posted an image of a Stormtrooper holding a sign that says "at least we didn't kiss our sister" to which Hamill responded: "Since we didn't know we were siblings when we lip-locked, I've always considered it "innocestuous." #GuiltyWithAExplanation" Check out the hilarious exchange below:

Thankfully, Luke and Leia's legacy throughout the course of the Star Wars franchise has completely overshadowed the infamous kiss. Sure, we're still reminded of it every now and then but I think it has become nothing more than just a running joke that we all get to laugh at today.
