Star Wars: LEGO Officially Unveils UCS Imperial Star Destroyer

LEGO had wowed fans with their release of the massive Ultimate Collector's Series Millennium Falcon kit, and with the Y-Wing following up the UCS series, a lot of people were left underwhelmed. This year though, LEGO us going big once more, and have revealed the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer.

Build and display an icon of the Galactic Empire – the Devastator. With over 4,700 LEGO® pieces, this Ultimate Collector Series 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer model captures all the authentic details of the starship as it appeared in the opening scene of Star Wars: A New Hope, including swiveling guns, a tilting radar dish, huge engine exhausts, intricate surface detailing and of course a buildable scale version of the Rebels' Tantive IV starship to chase down. This galactic civil war UCS set also includes a display stand with informational fact plaque and 2 Imperial minifigures, making it the perfect LEGO Star Wars collectible for discerning fans.

Here's also a video covering how the kit was designed by Henrik Anderson:

Unlike the Falcon, which actually has some interiors designed, this Star Destroyer looks to be hollow, but the thing is definitely massive. There was apparently a lot of emphasis on letting collectors lift the piece so they could clean underneath it, or show it to their friends.

With LEGO going with a new Star Destroyer kit, you can't help but think it's in synergy with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The latest trailer has revealed that there is an entire fleet of Star Destroyers in the film, and they're not First Order era destroyers too—these are Imperial class from the days of the Empire, so a lot of fans are curious on what that could mean for the plot.

The UCS Imperial Star Destoryer is available in LEGO stores and online.
