Star Wars Legends Sith Lord Has Become Canon Thanks to The Rise of Skywalker

It looks like an old Legend Sith Lord has managed to join Star Wars canon thanks to the junior novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Lucasfilm just recently released the junior novelization of Episode IX, and Star Wars fans pouring over the book couldn't help but notice a Sith Lord make his way into the book.

Posting on Reddit, TheMastersSkywalker makes note of a reference to Naga Sadow, a Star Wars Sith Lord from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. A half-breed Sith from Ziost, Naga Sadow was a master alchemist that took the Sith Empire to the brink of domination during the Great Hyperspace War. The character played a prominent role in the Tales of the Jedi comics and was relatively popular in Star Wars EU.

"Statues had been chiseled into the rock walls around him. He recognized some of them from his studies. Locphet. Mindran. Sissiri. Felkor. Sadow. All lords of the dark side. Their mouths did not move, but he heard their unintelligible whispers," the excerpt from the junior novelization of Episode IX reads.

It isn't entirely surprising to see Lucasfilm bringing an EU character into Star Wars canon. Not only did the studio have Admiral Thrawn join Star Wars canon when they introduced the character in Star Wars Rebels, but The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary revealed multiple Sith Lords like Revan Legion and Darth Nihilus).

We're glad to see Lucasfilm acknowledging the EU a little bit more now that the Skywalker Saga has come to an end.
