Star Wars: Kathleen Kennedy Already has a Dream Team in Mind to Run Lucasfilm After Her

Kathleen Kennedy has been having a stellar run as president of Lucasfilm, but with her contract set to be up by 2021, everyone is curious about who will be running Star Wars after her. The good news is, Kennedy seems to have her dream team in mind already.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kennedy's ideal team to run Lucasfilm after her include the likes of Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian), Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars, Rebels), and Lucasfilm's senior VP for live-action development and production Michelle Rejwan. It's still unclear if Kennedy will indeed leave her spot by 2021, but for now, it looks like she already has an idea of who she wants to leave the keys to the house to.

If anything, the team looks to be well-rounded with Filoni already having proved himself with his shows and Favreau doing some great work with The Mandalorian. Admittedly Rejwan kind of feels like the next Kathy Kennedy, having been attached as the producer for several films like Star Trek Into Darkness, The Force Awakens, and the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker. She doesn't have the 40 years of experience that Kennedy has, but neither did Kennedy when she started working on Indiana Jones.

We don't really know what the future for Star Wars holds yet, but I sure am glad about what Kennedy has delivered her whole tenure as Lucasfilm president. While a lot of fans hate on her online, I choose to believe that it's just the small fraction of (very loud) haters, and that isn't a reflection of the entire fanbase.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
