Star Wars: Hayden Christensen Opens up About Darth Vader Return in Obi-Wan Kenobi

There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to Darth Vader's awesome return in Obi-Wan Kenobi this May. After all, it has already been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will return as the Sith Lord in the highly anticipated Star Wars series. So what was it like to revisit a character he played decades ago? Christensen opened up about the excitement of returning as the iconic villain in the upcoming Disney+ show!

People were understandably hyped up when it was announced that Hayden Christensen would reunite with Star Wars prequel trilogy co-star Ewan McGregor in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Not surprisingly, Christensen was just as excited to return in the new series.

"Well, without getting into too much detail, it was amazing. It's a great honor to get to put that suit on," Christensen told Entertainment Weekly. He then explained that it was a role he was eager to revisit.

"It was mostly a lot of excitement because I had spent enough time with this character and felt like I knew him, and coming back to it felt very natural in a lot of ways," Christensen said.

He continued by admitting that he wanted to play the Sith Lord again at an important time in the character's life.

"I was just really excited to get to come in and play Darth Vader at this point in the timeline because it did feel like a natural continuation of your journey with the character. And that was very meaningful for me," Christensen concluded.

Fans are sure to agree with Christensen on this one. By the time we see Darth Vader again in Obi-Wan Kenobi, it had been years since he was defeated on Mustafar. Needless to say, it would be awesome to see what the character is like now that he has been estranged from Kenobi for so long.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ on May 24, 2022.
