Star Wars: Gina Carano Pays Tribute to Padme Amidala at The Mandalorian Premiere

A Star Wars red carpet event is undoubtedly the best place to show off some fashionable nods to the franchise's beloved characters. This is probably why The Mandalorian star Gina Carano decided to pay tribute to Padme Amidala when she attended the premiere of the Disney+ series.

The images of Carano's gorgeous red carpet look were shared by hairstylist Maria Sandoval on Instagram. You can easily see who inspired the Deadpool star's hairstyle. Check it out below.

"@ginajcarano wanted to pay homage to Padme Amidala @natalieportman last night at the @themandalorian premiere! Hair by @xenawmua (That's me.)," Sandoval wrote.

Carano was quick to react to the post. "I loved it," she wrote in the comments.

Although Carano's style inspiration for the premiere is a fashionable political figure, the character she plays is very different from Padme. In The Mandalorian, Cara Dune is a former Rebel Shock trooper who becomes a mercenary as she joins the civil war for the Rebel Alliance. Sure, she doesn't wear elaborate hairstyles or flowing gowns but Cara is clearly as strong as Padme and we can't wait to see her in action in the coming episodes of the Star Wars show.

The synopsis for The Mandalorian reads as follows:

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. The series depicts a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 2 is titled Chapter Two and is expected to premiere on Disney+ on November 15.
