Star Wars: Giancarlo Esposito Reveals Interesting Details About Mysterious Mandalorian Character

We're finally learning just a little bit more about the new characters that will be introduced in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian. After finding out that Gina Carano's Cara Dune used to work for the Galactic Empire, it has been revealed that Giancarlo Esposito is someone who actually rubbed elbows with the Emperor himself.

The recent Entertainment Weekly cover story on the upcoming Disney+ show confirmed that Esposito's character is "the most powerful of the bunch" by confirming his character Moff Gideon is "a former governor under the Galactic Empire whose world fell apart when those pesky Rebels blew up the second Death Star." The Better Call Saul star also offered some details about Gideon and hinted at the character's true motives.

"He's an Imperial remnant of a very fine officer who then switches to become sort of the guardian of the people," Esposito said. "But what does [Moff Gideon] really want? This guy is going to be a big player because he has an idea of how to keep order."

Well, he doesn't sound so bad, now does he? Although keeping order is a good thing, we're just going to be wary of Gideon until the series premieres this November.

Although Gideon clearly knows how to keep his cool in the Mandalorian trailer, Esposito admitted that he geeked out on the set of the Star Wars show. His most memorable geek-out moment was when he had to climb into a TIE Fighter which is quite understandable.

The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ on November 12.
