Over the years, fans of the Star Wars franchise have been divided when it comes to the prequel trilogy which ran from 1999 to 2005. Some folks hated it while other people have grown to appreciate it as time went on. One thing is for sure though, it was as divisive as the sequels but despite that, George Lucas is still proud of his work in the trilogy. However, the same thing can't be said about his ex-wife Marcia Lucas who apparently didn't like its opening salvo, Episode I — The Phantom Menace.

Of course, Marcia's comments hold a lot of merit because of her emotional attachment to the franchise and you really can't fault her for feeling the way she did after seeing Episode I. And honestly, for a time, the majority of Star Wars fans shared Marcia's views and sentiments about the films so I guess it only goes to prove that George, as much of a creative visionary that he is didn't exactly do the greatest job handling the prequel trilogy. Well, it is what it is.
