Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Not Getting As Many Guests As Expected

There might have been a lot of hype over Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, but it looks like the crowds are getting smaller at Disneyland's new Star Wars theme park.

According to Arizona Central, a publication linked to the network of the USA Today, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is getting fewer guests than what Disney originally anticipated. The Mickey Mouse House might have been preparing for overwhelming large crowds at Galaxy's Edge, but it seems like there aren't that many people visiting the theme park.

Not only have crowds "been lighter than anticipated since Galaxy's Edge opened to all visitors on June 24," but the site also says that the virtual queue which Disney created to handle the potential high demand of the Star Wars theme park has actually only been triggered a handful of times ever since the opening.

The demand for Galaxy's Edge's main attraction, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, has been pretty "manageable" as well with only a 30-60 minute wait time. Only have there been a few occasions where the wait time spiked up to 90 minutes.

This is far less then what analysts first expected and much shorter than the 2-3 hour wait time that the Radiator Springs Racers ride had when it opened in Disney's Cars Land at California Adventure back in 2012.

Could this mean that Star Wars fans aren't as eager for Galaxy's Edge as Disney might have thought? Or have Star Wars fans been waiting for the lines to thin out instead of crowding the theme park? Hopefully, the park can gather more guests as it continues operating.

Lucasfilm's upcoming release, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, premieres December 20, 2019.
