Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Is Hiring Stormtroopers

It's almost every Star Wars fan's dream to become a stormtrooper in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away. The studio might not be hiring any more extras now, but it looks like fans still have the chance to march down to the beat of the Empire thanks to Disneyland.

According to a job listing posted on Disneyland's website, Disney Parks Live Entertainment is currently looking for performers to act as stormtroopers for the park's newest addition, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Right now, Disneyland Resort is in the search for "energetic performers to bring to life to some of the exciting characters from the Star Wars saga."

The job listing requires hopefuls to have slender bodies, athletic builds and the willingness to "demonstrate high energy levels, a full range of body movement, and imaginative improvisation." Those interested in working for the park should note though that the role requires "physical exertion and working in a full-boy costume" which is the standard issue armor of the First Order. It's not going to be easy – stormtrooper outfits can be tight and warm.

Still, if fans want to give it a try, then why not. Performers should remember though that they have to be available on Friday nights, weekends, holidays, and peak operating seasons. Auditions are going to be held on Friday, May 24 in Downey, California. The audition is open to performers heights 5'10"- 6'0" (yes there actually is a height requirement in become a stormtrooper).

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens on May 31 at the Disneyland Resort. The park is also set to open on August 29 at the Walt Disney World Resort in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
