The world might still be in quarantine due to the Coronavirus outbreak but it looks like Harrison Ford isn't letting that stop him from enjoying a quick spin in the skies. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor recently made headlines after he was involved in a runway incident at an airport in Los Angeles. Not surprisingly, Star Wars fans couldn't help but comment on the news.
According to Reuters, Ford was piloting a small plane that wrongly crossed a runway where another aircraft was landing. Although there was no danger of a crash in the incident, the United States' Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently investigating the incident.
Ford's representatives were quick to issue a statement about the situation. "Mr. Ford crossed the airport's only runway in his aircraft after he misheard a radio instruction from ATC. He immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized to ATC for the error. The purpose of the flight was to maintain currency and proficiency in the aircraft. No one was injured and there was never any danger of a collision," the statement read.
We're happy to report that Ford is safe and no one was injured. Nevertheless, that didn't stop Star Wars fans from making Han Solo jokes.
You can reminisce about Ford actually being a great pilot by watching all nine films of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga, which will be available for streaming on Disney+ on May 4.
