It's no secret that fans have been hoping that Star Wars: The Bad Batch will bring back a beloved character who had played a huge role in the previous animated shows. So it's no surprise that people are celebrating the return of Captain Rex in the latest episode of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars spin-off.

The seventh episode of The Bad Batch didn't waste any time in getting straight to the bigger story. Clone Force 99 need to make it up to Cid after they failed to get the tactical droid's data in the previous episode. Their meeting is promptly interrupted by Rex's arrival.

It's an awesome entrance by one of the most well-known characters in the Star Wars Universe. Not surprisingly, fans are celebrating "the return of the king" in The Bad Batch Episode 7.

It certainly makes sense that Rex would have a role to play in the spin-off series. After all, he survived Order 66 and will continue to play a critical role in the future.

But could this mean that Rex will be an important character in The Bad Batch? For now, it looks like the show will focus on Clone Force 99. However, we're expecting to see Rex drop in and possibly bring Ahsoka Tano with him as well. Let's hope we'll see them again to team up with the Bad Batch next week.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 7 is titled Battle Scars. The seventh episode of the animated series is now streaming on Disney+.
