Star Wars Fans Freak Out Over Possible Return of the Jedi in The Bad Batch Connection

The Bad Batch has always featured several Star Wars Easter eggs and references. However, it looks like Episode 5 actually had a direct connection to Return of the Jedi and it has fans freaking out.

WARNING! The following contains SPOILERS from Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 5! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

In The Bad Batch Episode 5, Hunter tried to find out who had hired Fennec Shand to retrieve Omega. The team ends up on Ord Mantell where Echo contacts the Jedi informant Cid, who offers to find information. In return, Clone Force 99 will have to rescue a child named Muchi who has been kidnapped by slavers.

The Bad Batch immediately takes down the slavers and finds the child. However, it is also revealed that Muchi is actually a juvenile Rancor. Once the team takes Muchi back to Cid, the Rancor is then handed over to none other than Bib Fortuna, who brings Muchi to Jabba the Hutt.

Now people are doing the math and concluding that the Bad Batch went through all the trouble to save Muchi only for the Rancor to be murdered by Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi.

So did Luke kill Muchi? It is believed that the Rancor in Return of the Jedi was a different one. We're just hoping that Muchi lived a long comfortable life after the events in The Bad Batch.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episode 5 is titled Rampage. It is now streaming on Disney+.
