I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that the Star Wars prequel trilogy hasn't always been held in such high regard, especially when it was first launched over two decades ago. It can be argued that one of the reasons why Episodes I, II, and III failed to click with fans initially was the existence of one polarizing character who up to now is still the subject of ridicule.
Of course, we're talking about Jar Jar Binks played and voiced by Ahmed Best and despite the prequels finally gaining love from Star Wars diehards, the clumsy and annoying character still hasn't received the fandom's adoration. Well, that could finally change as Best revealed on Twitter that he's set to stage a one-man show centered on Jar Jar's prequel trilogy perspective.
Teasing his "version" of how things went down, the comedian even sneaked in an intriguing #darthjarjar hashtag, seemingly indicating that the fan-favorite theory will finally be explored.
The response to Ahmed's tweet has been generally positive which obviously comes as a shock considering how the Jar Jar character has always been perceived since his debut. Does it mean the Gungan has finally earned the admiration of fans, or are they just paying Best the respect he deserves? Check out some of the reactions below:
