Star Wars Fan Theory Fixes Glaring Palpatine Exegol Plothole

Star Wars fans were certainly surprised by Palpatine's return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. How exactly did the Emperor survive the fall from the Death Star in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi? And how in the world did Palpatine manage to gather such an overwhelming fleet of Star Destroyers without alerting the Resistance or the First Order?

The Rise of Skywalker certainly left fans quite a number of questions. Though Disney has yet to address these concerns, Star Wars fans have been trying to make sense of the film on their own, sharing various theories online.

One new theory by Reddit user Luy22 tries to explain how Palpatine managed to gather his fleet in the simple span of 30 years while hiding out on Exegol. According to the Star Wars fan, the Sith Citadel on Exegol is actually a Star Forge, an ancient Sith shipyard that was created 30,000 years before the events of George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy. Though the Star Forge isn't recognized in Star Wars canon, the shipyard was a major part of the Knights of the Old Republic.

Turning the Sith Citadel on Exegol into the Star Forge certainly seems like a great way to fix up The Rise of Skywalker's glaring Palpatine plot hole. The Star Forge could manufacture thousands of battle droids and reinforcements for the Sith. Why not a whole fleet of Star Destroyers?
