The Star Wars franchise is ready to usher in a new saga on the big screen and after months of speculation and a frustrating movie slate that has undergone several changes, we can now officially confirm that things will pick up right where they left off. At the 2023 Star Wars Celebration in London, it was confirmed that the next film will be set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker and not only that, it will mark Daisy Ridley's return to a galaxy far, far away.

Dubbed by many as "Episode X", the anticipated film will see Rey Skywalker establish her own Jedi Academy, something that the divisive ending to Episode IX actually set up. Key details about the film have yet to be disclosed but fans were nearly fooled by an alleged leaked image that began surfacing on social media over the weekend.

Made to look as if it was a movie still taken during Star Wars Celebration, the image in question sees a pregnant Rey on Tatooine, seemingly ready to give birth to her Jedi offspring. Obviously, the image is a fan edit, and in case you didn't know, "Episode X" hasn't even begun filming yet, with its script still being developed but somehow, fans still fell for it. The idea of Rey getting pregnant is obviously shocking to most fans, especially considering she was never romantically linked to any character in the franchise besides Kylo Ren who died in The Rise of Skywalker. Of course, there's a possibility she could pull a Shmi Skywalker and have an immaculate conception of her own but let's be honest, that will make her an even more polarizing character than she already is.

The official release date for the next Star Wars film is still being kept under wraps.
