Star Wars: Episode VIII Reportedly Filming in New Irish Location on May

Star Wars: Episode VIII could be adding a new filming location in two months' time. New reports suggest that the Episode VIII production team could be considering Malin Head in County Donegal, Ireland as another shooting location.

According to The Derry Journal, County Donegal is currently being scouted by LucasFilm and Disney as a possible film location for Episode VIII. Local B&Bs as well as hotels have reportedly been booked for May.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times also reported that location scouts visited Malin Head in secret last October and that there have been hints that the location will be used as Luke Skywalker's hideout during self-exile.

There's also been a tweet (via MSW) showing a newspaper cover containing the news.

Ever since Disney announced the beginning of principal photography for the yet-to-be-titled eighth installment of the beloved space opera series, there have been countless reports following the cast and crew's activities. It appears that Ireland is one of the production's favorite countries to shoot in. There was Skellig Michael, then the Dingle Peninsula, and Ceann Sibeal. If speculations are true, then County Donegal will be added on to the list of Irish locations for the filming of Episode VIII.

It also means there's more Ahch-To filming to come. The speculation is pretty awesome. Searching County Donegal on the Internet shows that it's probably one of the most beaitiful places on Earth.

Meanwhile, the latest news in Dubrovnik is that the shoot has already started and that photos, videos, and details have been revealed yesterday.

Directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
