The Star Wars news front has been pretty quiet the past few weeks. Fans might have been hoping to see a trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX during the Christmas and New Year holidays, but come January and the footage is still nowhere to be found.
Luckily, it seems like fans have a new update thanks to sequel trilogy star John Boyega. Taking to Instagram, the Star Wars actor decided to tease his followers on how Episode IX would take the franchise to an entirely new level. Sharing a picture of his dirt-stained and blood-speckled hands, Boyega talks about how hard he and the team pushes themselves to achieve crazy visuals for the film.
"Great working day on set!! The whole team pushed themselves today to achieve something visually crazy! I've had many moments of shock on set but not like today and I can't wait until you know why" the British actor wrote on his post.

While the photo doesn't give away any spoilers about what's to come in Episode IX, Boyega's bloody, dirty hands show just how intense work on the film is. Not only that, but the actor's caption also sparks a whole lot of excitement for fans. Star Wars has always had a massive production, and if J.J. Abrams is pushing for something visually crazy, we might be in for a pretty wild ride.
Of course, a large and intense production for Episode IX shouldn't come as much of a shock. Episode IX is the third and final film in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy. It would make sense for the studio to want to go out with a bang.
Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
