Star Wars: Episode IX Will Finish Principal Photography by February 2019

While Star Wars: Episode IX is still a mystery, it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm are determined to make the December 20, 2019, release date. Making a movie isn't easy, let alone a Star Wars movie, but it does seem like Disney isn't rushing to get the film out. Still, fans will be happy to know that the movie will likely make its release date without delay.

As reported by Geeks WorldWide, the movie will finish principal photography be February 2019. This means that the movie will be shot for six months and that's not including reshoots, which is likely given the nature of Hollywood films. Still, those will likely be done by 2019 and they're just going to be in the later months of 2019.

Six months is pretty standard for Hollywood shoots, though some movies have gone on shorter or longer. That should be enough time to finish the movie and we all know that J.J. Abrams is a more than competent director who can get this done.

The only thing known about Star Wars: Episode IX is that most of the cast will return, it will have a special scene with Leia Organa, and it is a sequel to The Last Jedi. It is expected to hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
