Star Wars: Episode IX Trailer Leak May Confirm Major Palpatine And Kylo Ren Rumor

Warning: This article contains potential leaks for the first full trailer of Star Wars: Episode IX.

Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps however, it seems like information about the film and its promotional campaign continue to leak out online.

One of the most recent leaks involves the first full trailer for Episode IX that everyone's expecting to drop this month, and it details Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) first meeting with Emperor Palpatine's (Ian McDiarmid). According to Making Star Wars, a site known for relatively reputable Star Wars leaks, a recently released video offers fans a bit of information about Darth Sidious in Episode IX's new trailer.

Making Star Wars editor Jason Ward says that a scene from the first full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker will feature Kylo Ren meeting with Palpatine, confirming two different leaks about the Emperor's role in the film. In the footage, Kylo finds himself meeting an old man that we soon learn to be Palpatine. The iconic Star Wars villain appears in what seems to be a "cross-vertical med chair that he's strapped into."

Kylo tries to kill him with his lightsaber, however, Palpatine just "laughs at Kylo Ren" proclaiming his identity as Darth Sidious.

It's an interesting leak, one that adds weight to information released a few months ago saying that Kylo would find Palpatine during the very first act of The Rise of Skywalker.

Of course, there's a possibility that the leak may be proven to be false. We'll just have to wait and see. The trailer for Episode IX will be released soon.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
