Star Wars: Episode IX Title 'Revealed' By Mark Hamill

While Marvel fans are keeping their eyes out for the Avengers 4 trailer that's supposed to come out this Friday, followers of the Star Wars franchise are patiently waiting for more info Star Wars: Episode IX. Lucasfilm's been keeping the third and final installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy under wraps, and there's barely been any word about what to expect from the movie.

Seeing the Star Wars fanbase itching for more news about Episode IX, Mark Hamill's decided to troll everyone with what he believes to be the official title of The Last Jedi sequel. Taking to Twitter, the Star Wars legend decided to drop the title of Episode IX after being asked by a fan whether he knows what the film is officially being called.

Hamill's playful response doesn't come as quite a surprise. Star Wars' Luke Skywalker has always been a joker (pun intended), pranking the fanbase with "spoilers" and "theories" about upcoming Star Wars films. Before the release of The Last Jedi, Hamill decided to play up wild fan theories that suggested that Luke was turning to the Dark Side by pointing out the arrangement of the film's official poster. He also suggested that Luke might actually be the father of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and at some point, he did the same thing for Finn (John Boyega).

Of course, it would make sense for Hamill to troll fans about Episode IX's official title.

Still, now that the Christmas season is upon us, we're hoping that Lucasfilm gives a few hints about what's to come. Here's to hoping!

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
