Star Wars: Episode IX Title Might Feature One Of These Ominous Words

People are still waiting for the Star Wars: Episode IX trailer in hopes of finding out what the film's subtitle will be. But is it possible that the movie's official title will reveal what could happen in the highly anticipated Star Wars flick? There are speculations that the title could feature one of three words that would confirm the film's storyline.

There are several theories about the Episode IX title. Some believe it could be really dark like Son of Darkness or surprisingly hopeful like A Light In The Dark. On the other hand, Inverse suggests that there are three words that could elevate the new Star Wars film to a new level. These words are "Skywalker," "Rebellion", and "Destiny."

Although Luke Skywalker has already been killed off in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker Saga didn't actually end with Episode VIII. With that in mind, it's possible that the Episode IX title will feature the word Skywalker as a fitting conclusion to the saga. Could it be called The Fate of the Skywalkers? It's an odd choice so we're not voting for this one.

"Rebellion" certainly has a nice ring to it considering that this has been part of the main storyline for a long time. However, it seems unlikely to be mentioned now that those people prefer to refer to themselves as the Resistance.

Finally, "Destiny" could be the way to go. Whether it's in reference to Kylo Ren, or Rey, or the Skywalkers' fate, it seems like a fitting tribute to the final chapter in the Skywalker Saga. However, this is still based on speculations so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
