Star Wars: Episode IX Theory Teases On How Luke Skywalker Will Be Resurrected

We already know that Luke Skywalker will return in Star Wars: Episode IX despite his shocking death in The Last Jedi. Although fans believe that Mark Hamill will appear as a Force ghost or in a flashback sequence, a new theory suggests that Luke will be resurrected in the highly anticipated sequel.

Hamill is currently working on Episode IX and has refused to confirm whether Luke will be a Force ghost in the film. Not surprisingly, this has led to several theories about how the Jedi will be back. Although some believe that Luke will be guiding Rey (or Kylo Ren) in the sequel, a strange theory purports that someone will find a way to resurrect Luke next year (via Express).

The theory takes its main idea from the Star Wars comic book series Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith. A recent issue already revealed that Palpatine had given Vader the Mask of Lord Momin, a strange artifact that carries the lifeforce of the Sith Lord. The mask allegedly helped Vader create his castle in Mustafar and might contain the secret to resurrection. Although there have been speculations that Vader had used it to bring back Padme Amidala, the mask might also play a major role in Episode IX as the one thing that could resurrect Luke.

But who would actually want to revive the Jedi? The theory points to Rey being consumed with the need to reconnect with her former mentor.

It's an outrageous theory yet some are truly hoping that Luke will return alive in Episode IX. However, we still strongly recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX will premiere on December 20, 2019.
