Star Wars: Episode IX Teaser Rumored For Release This Christmas

Star Wars fans have been left withering dry. Not only has there been very little information about Star Wars: Episode IX from Lucasfilm, but there hasn't been any official footage from the studio either – something that fans would very much appreciate during this Star Wars movie-less season. However, according to a new rumor, fans might actually get a pretty cool Christmas treat.

A new rumor has been running up and down the mill online, saying that some sort of Star Wars: Episode IX-related promotional content will be making its way to the public on Christmas morning. According to Express, evidence that a new promotional video for Episode IX's trailer release actually comes from Disney World were a Disney Channel commercial was being filmed.

The key line was very clear:

"...stay tuned for a first new look at a galaxy far, far away!"

While Star Wars fans might want to believe that they'll be getting a new video from Episode IX on Christmas Morning, readers ought to be reminded to take these kinds of reports with a grain of salt. You can't really trust just anything that you find online.

Besides, even if the report were true, we're still not certain that the teaser that drops on the 25th could be for Episode IX. It's very likely that the commercial may simply be a first look at Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy Edge – after all, this new Star Wars theme park is opening next year and Disney would probably want to promote the park's attractions before its debut.

Or who knows, maybe it really could be for Episode IX. Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX drops December 20, 2019.
