Star Wars: Episode IX Reportedly Includes Force Training Scene Between Young Luke And Leia

Star Wars: Episode IX might be set for release about ten months from now, but fans barely know anything about the upcoming Star Wars entry. Lucasfilm's been pretty tight-lipped the past few months and with the studio stubbornly holding on to the trailer and title of third and final sequel trilogy installment, fans have been turning to wild fan theories and dubious leaks online.

One of the most recent "leaks" that's been circulating on the internet is an alleged flashback sequence between the twins Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (the late Carrie Fisher). Earlier this month, word started spreading that Episode IX would feature a flashback between the two during a time when the Skywalker twins were much younger by using different actors or CGI work that would de-age both Fisher and Hamill.

Now, a report by Now This Is Podcasting provides new details about this alleged flashback sequence from an unnamed but reportedly reliable source. According to the report, this scene will see Luke training Leia in the ways of the Force. However, instead of pushing through with training Leia opts to end her session with Luke because she's going to have a baby who we surmise to be Ben (Adam Driver).

While it's possible the studio might use a younger actor and actress to play Luke and Leia, the source says that Billie Lourd, Fisher's daughter, might have been a stand-in for the scene with Lucasfilm opting to use CGI.

Could Episode IX really include a Force training scene between Luke and Leia? That would definitely add some weight to the Force trick that Leia used to save herself in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
