Star Wars: Episode IX Is Getting Review Bombed Months Before Its Premiere

Star Wars: Episode IX may have a long way to go till its premiere, however, while the film has yet to receive an official title and a first teaser, it seems like internet trolls have started fake "review" bombing the third and final installment in the sequel trilogy.

Rotten Tomatoes already has a few reviews up in Star Wars: Episode IX's audience tab and it seems like some of the site's users aren't as eager about the upcoming Star Wars entry.

Some of the reviews say that they aren't going to see the film because of the sequel trilogy's terrible new characters and because of its forced "identity politics" that "ruined" the franchise. Others complain about how the sequel trilogy turned heroes like Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia Organa (the late Carrie Fisher) into "old, sad, demoralized people" accompanied by boring characters. Others yet blame their disinterest for Episode IX on Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

This new report comes a week after word came out that internet trolls were also review bombing Captain Marvel, Marvel Studios' first female-led standalone movie. However, unlike the Star Wars: Episode IX review bombs, Captain Marvel's reviews were more sexist, directing their ire at the film being focused on a female superhero and at Brie Larson's decision to send young girls to see her movie for free.

Despite all the negative comments for both films, Captain Marvel and Star Wars: Episode IX still remain two of the most highly anticipated films of the year. Right now Episode IX has a solid anticipation rating on Rotten Tomatoes, leaning back at an 89% high.
