Star Wars: Episode IX Red Stormtroopers Possibly Confirmed By Disney Rep

Fans have been speculating about the new Stormtroopers that will be introduced in Star Wars: Episode IX. However, it looks like the debut of the red First Order troopers has just been confirmed by an unlikely source: A Disney representative discussing plans for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Entertainment Weekly recently reported about the highly anticipated expansion at Disneyworld which has some interesting features of its own. Scott Trowbridge, the Imagineering creative executive in charge of Galaxy's Edge, shared new details about the elite squad of Stormtroopers that are set to play a major role at the park.

"The 709th, the Red Fury," Trowbridge said of the new Stormtroopers. "There are some stories to be told about those folks, and why they're here, what they came looking for — or who they came looking for."

It was also revealed that the Red Fury will arrive in a new ship called the TIE Echelon, which is described as a mix of Kylo Ren's Silencer and Darth Vader's TIE Advanced x1.

It doesn't seem like much but fans immediately believed that Trowbridge has confirmed that Red Fury is named as such because of the color of their armor. The red Stormtroopers have long been speculated to appear in Episode IX and it's possible that we have finally learned their name.

The appearance of the red Stormtroopers in Episode IX has not yet been revealed. However, people believe they will look a lot like Elrik Vonreg, the elite First Order operative that appears in Star Wars Resistance.

So does this confirm the Red troopers are coming to Episode IX? For now, these are still based on speculations so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release on December 20.
