Star Wars Episode IX: Possible Details on Rose's Role in the Film

Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico was one of the new main characters introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but based on everything that's leaked online, we haven't gotten a single glimpse of her for Episode IX. What's interesting is, we may have some new info on Rose's role in the film.

According to Making Star Wars' podcast Now This is Podcasting (via Reddit), Rose will actually have a smaller role in the sequel this time around. Her role is being described as more "Lando-sized" for Episode IX.

When it comes to the character of Rose, you could already say that she was the Lando of the sequel trilogy in a sense that she's the main character introduced in the second installment. Though I would have loved to see more of her, I guess having a Lando-sized role could still be relevant. After all, Lando was instrumental in destroying the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi.

Though a lot of people ended up hating on Rose in The Last Jedi, a lot of other fans voiced out their love for her after Kelly Marie Tran was bullied off of social media. Rose has become a great icon of representation for the Asian Star Wars fans, and I think it would be a shame if Lucasfilm dropped her out of Episode IX completely.

Also, I've been on a personal campaign to have Rose be the "Sexy Leia" of the sequel trilogy, so there's that:

Catch Rose return in Star Wars Episode IX which comes out Dec. 20.
