Star Wars: Episode IX Newbie Naomi Ackie On The Film’s Title

Star Wars fans aren't the only ones badgering Star Wars: Episode IX actors and actresses for hints at what's to come in the third and final installment in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy. Reporters have been trying to coax Episode IX stars to give out the deets on The Last Jedi sequel and some have been trying to get Star Wars newbie Naomi Ackie to spill the beans.

Ackie just recently had a little chat with HeyUGuys (via Express), and during the Episode IX star's interview with the publication, the actress was asked about the mysterious title of the Star Wars movie she's set to appear in. While Ackie tried to worm her way out of the question by saying that Lucasfilm kept Episode IX's secrets in a tight hold, she did reveal one little thing – the studio doesn't even trust its stars with the title for its upcoming film.

"They keep everything on such a lockdown," the actress said. "They don't tell us anything until it's time for us to know. Disney are the ultimate Jedis."

That's a pretty good move on Lucasfilm's end – they wouldn't want loose-tongued actors and actresses to accidentally give away major spoilers to one of the most highly anticipated films of the year. Look at what happened to Marvel, trusting the likes of Spider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland and Thor: Ragnarok's Mark Ruffalo.

Right now, Star Wars actors like Anthony Daniels has finished filming scenes for Episode IX. The film is expected to complete production soon.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
