Star Wars: Episode IX Leaks Reportedly Reveals Rey’s Real Name

Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) might have already revealed Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parents as drunken junkers in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but fans are still hoping for a new twist in the Jakku orphan's parentage once Star Wars: Episode IX makes its way to the big screen. Sure, having nobodies as parents might liberate the franchise from fatalism to perpetuate the idea that anyone can be a powerful Jedi, but a lot of traditional fans still want to see Rey tied to a legacy character. Maybe Luke. Maybe Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Now, new Episode IX leaks claim that Rey's real name is going to be revealed in the film with reports describing scenes that tie the film to Solo: A Star Wars Story.

According to Express, new leaks of storyboards and concept art describe scenes with Rey, revealing her true name as she acts out scenes in Episode IX.

"A description of Rey inside a large cave with an ignited blue lightsaber. There are dozens of blue orbs floating around her, illuminating everything with a blue glow," the publication describes the image. "The next goes over Rey walking into the cave where many Jedi relics are."

While this scenery seems pretty ethereal and mysterious, the most interesting part of the report is the name used for Rey.

"Kira Rey enters the Cave of Dismay," the report goes on.

The name sound familiar? That's because Kira (Emilia Clarke) was Han Solo's (Alden Ehrenreich) first love in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Could Rey be the daughter of Han and Kira?

Rey seems rather young, coming at around Kylo Ren's age. So if Rey were to be Han and Kira's daughter, then that would mean that everyone's favorite swashbuckling space smuggler cheated on Leia during the early years of their marriage.

That, or Rey could simply be the daughter of Kira and somebody else. Who knows.

Of course, as exciting as this might sound, fans ought to be reminded to take this report with a grain of salt. Can't trust anything online till we get confirmation from Lucasfilm.
