Star Wars: Episode IX Leaked Photo Is From Different Disney Film [Debunked]

It's hard to trust the internet these days. A recently leaked photo from the Star Wars: Episode IX set had fans excited over a glimpse at what could be a new training ground for Rey. However, there is a reason why it looks pretty familiar.

The alleged leaked photo from the Episode IX set appeared to have a jungle setting with strange structures looking like the ruins of a temple. It certainly had people looking forward to Rey possibly getting some Jedi training in a location similar to Dagobah. Unfortunately, it has been revealed that the image comes from another Disney film. The picture was taken from a time-lapse video of a set being constructed for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

It certainly seemed like a plausible leak considering the set's similarity to the planet Dagobah where Luke Skywalker was trained by Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back. However, it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer before we can get a glimpse at what's happening on the set of Episode IX.

Fans who are hoping for an early update on the Star Wars sequel might actually be in for a great treat. There have been speculations that the Episode IX title will be announced when Disney celebrates the anniversary of Lucasfilm's acquisition by the end of October. Let's keep our fingers crossed on the possible good news.

The Star Wars: Episode IX title has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, the sequel is scheduled for release on December 20, 2019.
