With Lucasfilm keeping Star Wars: Episode IX's close to its chest, it barely comes as a surprise that none of the sequel trilogy's newcomers have been revealed. While the studio has confirmed the return of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and all the other sequel trilogy staples, the characters of newbies like Richard E. Grant and Naomi Ackie have yet to be named.

Now, thanks to a new set leak, fans have new info on Ackie's secret Star Wars character, and it looks like the news is going to send the fanbase in a bit of a shock.

According to a new report by Movie Web, a Star Wars fan on Reddit has been going around claiming to be an extra on the set of Episode IX, and it looks like the insider's brought some pretty big intel on Ackie's character in an important scene in the film. The report's a bit of a woozy because word has it that Ackie might actually be playing Lando Calrissian's (Billy Dee Williams) daughter in the sequel to The Last Jedi.

Claiming to be part of a guerrilla militia hiding in a bunker on the planet of Battuu, the jungle planet that fans got to see in leaked set photos, the self-proclaimed Star Was extra claims to be part of a scene where Poe (Oscar Isaac), Finn (John Boyega) and Chewbacca are talking with Dominic Monaghan's Star Wars character. The Lord of the Rings star is wearing a "very cool costume" on set, and he is seen together with Veranada Calrissian, Ackie's character. Nicknamed Vera, Lando's daughter seems to possess a leadership role in the Resistance together with Monaghan's character.

While the leak has yet to be confirmed by Lucasfilm, if proven true, then Ackie's character would definitely be big news for the fanbase. Lando has long since been a fan-favorite character in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away – fans would die to know more about Lando's daughter. Let's cross our fingers and wait and see what happens.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
