Star Wars: Episode IX Image Released During Celebration, Time Skip Confirmed

The Star Wars Chicago Celebration has just started and fans are already going crazy over some of the images released for Star Wars: Episode IX, along with a couple of movie details. Early on in the night, J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy were asked about the cast and story, before a huge reaction from the audience was heard. We were soon directed to a new image of our cast together in a jungle-like setting.

If that wasn't interesting enough, Abrams confirmed that Episode IX will have a time skip. That's right, unlike The Last Jedi, this movie will not take place right after the last film's ending, which opens up the storytelling by a large amount. It's also the proper move since Carrie Fisher has passed away and not moving forward in time would have been awkward.

As if that wasn't enough to get excited about, Abrams confirmed that Rey, Finn, Chewie, C-3PO, and the whole crew will be together for this adventure. This gives the film a proper Star Wars finale feel since these films true strengths lie in the cast and their chemistry. Rey and Finn have been apart for so long and it will be awesome seeing them take on mooks together.
