Star Wars Episode IX: Billy Dee Williams Updates Us on His Lando Workout

Just like with every other returning Star Wars cast member, Billy Dee Williams has been asked by Lucasfilm to get back in shape for Lando Calrissian in Star Wars Episode IX. We don't have any idea of what he'll look like in the movie yet, but Williams has been giving us regular updates on his physical fitness.

Check him out:

At 81 years old, I wouldn't expect that Williams would be made to jump and run around in the latest film. In fact, it's said that his role would be closer to that of Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens, in a sense that he would lead the characters to the movie's MacGuffin. That's just a rumor of course, but it's not entirely impossible.

Personally, I'm hoping that Lando has a more substantial role in the movie, and I want to see him reunited with the Millennium Falcon. After Solo: A Star Wars Story, there's a whole new history between Lando and the ship; it's even kind of implied that he banged L3, a droid that ended up as the ship's AI.

Everyone has been clamoring for a teaser for Star Wars Episode IX, but it's likely that Lucasfilm will be dropping it at Star Wars Celebration this April. People also want a title drop, but I have a feeling it's going to come along with the teaser, much like what Marvel Studios did with Avengers: Endgame.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20.
