Star Wars: Early Rogue One Concept Art Reveals Completely Different Characters

One of the best things about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the gang of unlikely heroes who came together to procure the Death Star plans. However, it looks like the original line-up featured completely different characters who looked nothing like Cassian Andor, Bodhi Rook, or Chirrut Imwe.

The original characters that were supposed to appear in Rogue One were revealed in early concept art shared by artist Christian Alzmann on his official Instagram account. Check it out below.

"Early character line-up for Rogue One in the Art of Rogue One by Josh Kushins. Left to right: K2SO, Jyn, Senna, Lunak, Dray, Ria, Jerris," Alzmann wrote before adding the hashtags #starwars, #rogueone, #k2so, #conceptart, #digitalart, and #photoshop.

First of all, it's good to know that Jyn Erso and K-2SO were part of the original plans for Rogue One. However, the rest of the characters are very different from the ones who were eventually introduced in the film. Nevertheless, we're glad that the changes were made although it would have been nice if Jyn had another female companion in their mission.

Although the other characters will not be back anytime soon, fans can rest assured that we'll be seeing more of Cassian and Kay-Too in the future. It has already been confirmed that Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will reprise their roles in the Rogue One prequel series.

The still-untitled Rogue One prequel show has not yet been given an official production start date or a release date. Nevertheless, it is expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.
