Star Wars Duel of Fates Concept Art Shows Badass Rose Tico

Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) may have had a significant role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, however, the character was forced to take to the sidelines in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to make way for lead characters like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Finn (John Boyega), and a whole lot of the film's convoluted plot.

While The Rise of Skywalker gave Rose Tico such limited screentime, Colin Trevorrow's version of Star Wars: Episode IX had a major role for the former Resistance mechanic. Concept art for Trevorrow's Duel of Fates just recently made its way online and it gives Rose a pretty bad-ass look as she joins the fight with Resistance artillery in her hand.

Sure, fans of The Rise of Skywalker may defend the film and seay that Rose was been given time to fight with the others in the battle on Exegol, but honestly, Duel of Fates had bigger plans for the character. It's such a shame that Rose was forced to the sidelines, especially after playing a significant role in the development of Finn's character in The Last Jedi.

Despite the rabid hatred that traditional fanboys had for Rose Tico, the Resistance mechanic deserved much more from The Rise of Skywalker. We would have certainly enjoyed seeing more of Rose in Episode IX.

How about you? Do you like seeing Rose taking to the forefront of the battle in the concept art for Duel of the Fates? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
