Star Wars Actor Domhnall Gleeson Says Episode IX’s Script Felt Different From What He Thought

Star Wars sequel trilogy star Domhnall Gleeson is set to reprise his role as General Hux in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and while the actor can't really share much about the part that he's going to play in the upcoming Star Wars entry, he does have a few comments about the film's script.

Speaking in an interview with Collider, the British actor decided to open up about his experience coming across the script for Star Wars: Episode IX for the very first time.

"It was cool, it was a page-turner," Gleeson said, "It was different than what I had thought. It was great. It was exciting. And, also, you feel part of this tiny club that gets to read these things ahead of other people and that feels great. I really did enjoy that. I think it's gonna be cool."

It's good to hear that Gleeson enjoyed reading the script for The Rise of Skywalker. There's a lot riding on the movie. Not only is it the final entry in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, but it's also supposed to serve as the culmination of the Skywalker Saga.

Once Episode IX finally premieres, Star Wars is going to move on to a different direction with Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson's upcoming trilogy and with the trilogy assigned to Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

We're really hoping that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to exceed everyone's expectations when it premieres on December 20, 2019.
