Star Wars’ Domhnall Gleeson Says Episode IX And The Last Jedi Share Different Energies

Lucasfilm might have been trying its best to keep Star Wars: Episode IX's secrets under wraps, but sometimes the franchise's stars can't help but give away a few tidbits about the upcoming Star Wars movie.

Star Wars sequel trilogy actor Domhnall Gleeson (First Order General Hux) just recently went on an interview with Express to discuss his upcoming project, The Little Stranger. To the delight of the Star Wars fanbase, not only did the British actor dive into the details of his gothic drama movie during his discussion with the publication, but he also decided to open up about Star Wars: Episode IX.

Comparing the work that he had to do in Episode IX and The Last Jedi, Gleeson admits that the third and final sequel trilogy installment is a far jump from its predecessor, saying that the two holds quite a different kind of energy to it.

"Between the Star Wars films, there's a different energy between JJ Abrams and Rian (Johnson). I've been really lucky with the people I've worked with. That's the joy, getting to change it up," Gleeson told the publication.

While this might not seem much, Star Wars fans who didn't quite enjoy the way The Last Jedi subverted fan expectations might like this new reveal from Gleeson. Though The Last Jedi was both a commercial and critical success for Lucasfilm, the Star Wars installment became one of the most divisive films in the Star Wars franchise. The Last Jedi's critics will certainly be glad to hear that Episode IX has a very different energy to offer everyone.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
