Star Wars Defends Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd Against Hateful Tweets

Star Wars has made it clear that the franchise is standing by all its actors and the characters they portray, and this was proved again today. Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd got some hateful comments after their appearance at Star Wars Celebration but the Star Wars Twitter account was quick to defend the actors!

The official Star Wars Twitter account recently hyped up Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd's appearance at Star Wars Celebration. However, the post got a hateful comment aimed at the actors but the Star Wars account was quick to drop a clapback that ended any further negativity.

It's interesting to see that Star Wars is actively defending Kelly Marie Tran after everything that the actor has gone through in the past. Tran had to deal with backlash when she was first introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi which led to her deleting her social media accounts.

The backlash even led to Tran having a limited screentime in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Director J.J. Abrams had previously confirmed that Tran filmed a lot of scenes as Rose Tico but these were ultimately deleted from the theatrical cut of the film.

Although Star Wars wasn't able to deal with the backlash in the past, it looks like the franchise's social media accounts are making sure to change that. Luckily, Tran is doing much better now and the franchise clearly got her back.

Kelly Marie Tran and Billie Lourd are not the only Star Wars actors who are getting negative comments these days. Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram was the subject of racist comments but Star Wars is also defending the actress.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 3 will premiere on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
