It turns out that there are still a lot of things we don't know about Star Wars' latest hit series Obi-Wan Kenobi and two weeks after the show premiered its satisfying finale, new details about Lucasfilm's original plans for the return of the Jedi Master are now coming to light.

Just recently, we learned that instead of being a six-part series, the production company initially intended for Obi-Wan Kenobi to be a movie trilogy. Obviously, the idea was ultimately dropped and apparently, so were a ton of creative ideas that would've made it night and day compared to what we ended up getting.

According to the film's original writer Stuart Beattie, he didn't want to include the Sith Inquisitors as the project's secondary villains and instead, he had plans to create a new set of Clone Troopers that will do Darth Vader's handy work for him.

Speaking with The Direct, Stuart revealed that Reva was always going to be part of the project but instead of being a member of the Inquisitorious, the former Jedi padawan would have led "a squad of Stormtrooper Marshals". He explains: "So, I thought, ‘Yeah, of course, the Stormtroopers have like the equivalent of the U.S. Marshals, right?’ Except that these guys were Clones."

He continued: "They were all Temuera Morrison, speaking in his voice, and they were all veterans of the Clone Wars. They all knew Kenobi. They knew these Jedi they were hunting, and they still [had] the biochips in them."

Stuart also explained how his version of the Troopers would differ from Stormtroopers: "They did not miss when they shot, and they were absolutely ruthless. There were ten of them. And they were commanded by a guy named Commander Jet. And so they were her squad and they all ended up dying over the course of the story."

It's a shame that Beattie's vision for the project didn't materialize but hey, at least he wasn't completely booted out of the show and I think he did a pretty good job with the episodes he was involved in.

All episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are available for streaming on Disney+.
