Star Wars: Daisy Ridley Not Interested In Returning As Rey After The Rise Of Skywalker

There is little doubt that people are hoping to see more of Rey in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But will the girl from Jakku continue to play a major role in the upcoming Star Wars trilogies? Daisy Ridley thinks it's not going to happen as she questions her own future in the beloved franchise.

Ridley recently spoke to Vulture about her new film Ophelia but also managed to answer some interesting questions about The Rise of Skywalker. For instance, the Chaos Walking actress was asked if she will continue to play Rey in more Star Wars movies. Interestingly, Ridley admitted that she "can't actually imagine it right now."

"The ending to The Rise of Skywalker ... it's very satisfying. It felt like an end. I don't know what'll happen in however many years. There are so many characters in the Star Wars world who've never been explored. There's so much for the filmmakers to work on. So right now, I don't think so."

It might seem like Ridley is closing the door on more Star Wars films but she somehow takes it back right away.

"But who could say, really? An opportunity might present itself. I love how the movie hasn't come out and people are like, 'What about going forward?'" she said with a laugh. "Right now, it feels like a really nice full stop on the Skywalker series."

It certainly sounds like The Rise of Skywalker will somehow conclude Rey's story. However, there is still a huge possibility that we'll see Ridley again in a Star Wars movie after the Skywalker Saga ends.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled for release on December 20.
