Star Wars Creature Designer Updates Fans on Cassian Andor Spinoff Series

Star Wars fans might not have that much information from Disney about its upcoming live-action Star Wars series, but it looks like we finally have an update about Lucasfilm's Captain Cassian Andor series.

Sure, the House of Mouse might have decided to shut down the production of its upcoming projects to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, but thanks to Star Wars creature designer Neal Scanlan, it seems like we finally have some info on the development process behind Lucasfilm's upcoming Rogue One spinoff series.

Speaking in an interview with Movie Web, Scanlan decided to open up about what it was like to work on Cassian Andor, saying that the development of the series doesn't feel any different from working on a film.

"What is fun about this is, in many ways, I don't think it feels different than working on a movie. It certainly doesn't feel like we are making any compromises. It's the same creative conditions in every department to do what we can do," the Star Wars designer told the entertainment news outlet.

It seems like Lucasfilm really isn't making any compromises producing Cassian Andor. Scanlan focuses on practical effects and on creature design, so we can probably expect a lot of interesting creatures in the upcoming Rogue One spinoff. While we don't think that Lucasfilm will release any of the designs any time soon, we hope that we'll get more details about the series as time goes on.

Lucasfilm's Cassian Andor series has yet to receive a release date, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
