Star Wars Comic Confirms How Boba Fett 'Escaped' The Sarlacc Pit

The Star Wars films may have left Boba Fett to die in the Sarlacc Pitt in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, however, it seems like the franchise has decided to let the iconic bounty hunter escape his slippery demise in a brand new comic.

Star Wars has a comic book series called Tag & Bink Are Dead #2 and in the second issue of the series(via Screen Rant) Star Wars fans finally get to see Boba Fett escaping from the Sarlac Pitt. The comic starts with two inept Rebel officers named Tag and Bink who get separated from the Rebellion. While the Rebels relocate to Hoth, the two head down to Yavin 4 and it seems like they're not alone. They find Boba Fett there and the Rebels are forced to fight with the bounty hunter. Through luck, Tag and Bink knock Boba Fett unconscious.

The two then tie Boba Fett up so they can steal fuel from his ship. This encounter with Boba starts a cat-and-mouse relationship with the characters in the series. They meet again in Star Wars tales #12 where Fett ties them to a pole and kicks them right into the Great Pit of Carkoon.

In another stroke of luck, Tag and Bink don't die in the Sarlacc Pitt – they just end up dangling on the end of the pole which is somehow wedged in the Sarlacc's Gullet. Five days later when Boba Fett and Jabba's guards battle with Luke Skywalker in the events of The Return of the Jedi, Tag and Bink are still dangling inside the belly of the Sarlacc. They see guards falling into the Sarlacc's mouth and grumble that it would take a jet pack to get them out of the pit. As luck would find it, Boba Fett's jet pack dislodges and falls right into the pit, followed by the bounty hunter himself.

Making a deal with the bounty hunter, Tag and Bink use the jet pack to escape the pit together with Boba Fett.

So it seems like Star Wars has it made it official – Boba Fett escaped the jaws of death. It's definitely going to be interesting to see him appear in Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 1 is available for streaming on Disney+.
