Star Wars Comic Artist Imagines Taika Waititi as Boba Fett

The release of Solo: A Star Wars Story was quickly followed by the announcement that a Boba Fett movie was in the works with James Mangold on the helm. Every fan immediately started wondering who would get to play Boba in the film, but Star Wars artist Phil Noto has one particular Kiwi in mind.

Comic writer Tom Taylor shared this fanart of Taika Waititi as Boba Fett:

We still have no idea at what point in the Star Wars timeline the Boba Fett movie will be held, but it would make sense for Waititi to play the character should they introduce Fett in the same era as Solo: A Star Wars Story. Besides directing, Waititi has proven himself a great actor, and he is also the same Kiwi descent as Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison.

If the movie is after Return of the Jedi, however, I would love for Morrison himself to come back as an aged Mandalorian bounty hunter.

There are also some fans that would want Attack of the Clones Boba actor Daniel Logan to come back to the franchise. He has voiced Boba in the Clone Wars animated series, and he's the right age to come back and play the character as an adult. Just for kicks, here he is in the classic armor:

We don't have a release date for the Boba Fett movie yet, but hopefully we get one before the year ends. For now, we can get a glimpse at the criminal underworld in Solo: A Star Wars Story out in theaters.
