Star Wars: Clone Wars Actor Wants to Return as Asajj Ventress

There is little doubt that Asajj Ventress is one of the most unforgettable villains in the Star Wars Universe and her powerful presence was first seen in Genndy Tartakovsky's Star Wars: Clone Wars. So would Grey Griffin ever consider playing the character again? The legendary voice actress revealed that she is eager to reprise her role as the Sith assassin.

Griffin voiced Asajj Ventress in Tartakovsky's micro-series back in 2003 and although she only had a few lines, her performance left a lasting impact on the character. Nika Futterman has since taken over the role in Star Wars: The Clone Wars but Griffin admitted she would never turn down the chance to play Asajj again.

Griffin is currently promoting Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms where she plays Kitana. ComicBookMovie recently spoke to the Scooby-Doo star and asked if she would like to play Asajj again to possibly explore that version of the character's storyline. Not surprisingly, Griffin was enthusiastic about the idea.

"I would adore that. I am happy with the Asajj I got to play, though, just because I'm such a fan of Genndy Tartakovsky," Griffin said. She then shared how she admired the Samurai Jack creator and teased on their next project together.

"He's such a genius and allowed me to be part of so many of his wonderful creations, including something that's coming up. I can't say what it is yet, but he's got a project in the works I've got a nice part in," Griffin said. "I'm just glad he still continues to believe in me."

Now we know what you're thinking: could Griffin's next collaboration with Tartakovsky possibly have something to do with Asajj's return? It's important to remember that the 2003 micro-series has been removed from Star Wars canon so it's unlikely that this will be the new project they are working on.

We would truly love to see the original version of Asajj again in the future but that's a decision that Lucasfilm and Disney will have to make in the future. In the meantime, we'll be crossing our fingers in hopes that it will happen.
